Interim Payroll Consultant for Global Insurance Company

 
The Payroll Consultant will take responsibility for the payroll which incorporates up to 3,500 employees across both the UK and 26 additional international payrolls. A critical, high-visibility role to champion existing processes, own and lead on transformation efforts, process re-engineering, advising on tools and automation and managing the Payroll vendors across multiple geographies. This role will drive continuous improvement efforts through tight collaboration with HRSS, HR, Accounting, Treasury, and Accounts payable teams, whilst maintaining flawless compliance amidst complex statutory requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
1. Own, prioritise and drive complex projects including Payroll Transformation, process standardisation and control frameworks across multiple geographies
2. Establish and set operational strategy for owning all operating Audits and controls across all Countries.
3. Proactively minimise operational risk
4. Document all procedures from an International payroll perspective and communicate these effectively to country HR/Payroll Administrators
5. Interact with all levels of management to identify opportunities to streamline and improve the International Payroll function and promote process improvement concepts.
6. Continuously improve the operations by applying lean methodologies
7. Respond to escalations from employees, managers, auditors and government agencies; conduct in-depth troubleshooting/research involving multiple stakeholders, systems and processes.
 
Experience

• Experience of processing international payrolls.
• Be professional, quickly establishing personal credibility and demonstrating expertise
• Have strong personal impact and resilience, and be able to influence and persuade stakeholders to gain support for major changes and key decisions
• Take a practical approach to solving issues and gaining agreement
• Be able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions
• Be skilled in facilitating and encouraging collaboration amongst team members
• Experience across the complete lifecycle of Transformation projects, from concept through execution and ongoing operations
